On the north side of Jakarta is a beautiful boardwalk with the best fish restaurant I’ve experienced anywhere. It’s world class. It’s also unusual because you choose your entre from a tank and not a menu.
Upon entering, you are greeted by someone who helps you with your live catch selection. Prices are on the tank. They gave us both a basket to carry our catch which we took to a counter. Next, we ordered how we wanted it cooked and which side dishes to include. I chose ocean shrimp (huge ones) and Christina had kind of big fish (don’t know what kind).
We left with full stomachs and big smiles. It was a bit pricy for Jakarta at 394,000IDR ($30.00). We’re used to $7.50 for two. But this was a class act. In the U.S., it would have been triple.
